A John Waters Christmas Atlantic city Concert reviews
Completely disappointed.
The concert began with a lesser-known song, starting ten minutes late. A John Waters Christmas played three songs straight without addressing the audience. He then moved into another song, only commenting "we came a thousand miles to see you." His brief story about his grandma led into another song, marking the last of the crowd interaction. Most of his hits were played, with exceptions like songs from the 1990s and 2000s. During his songs, there were long periods where he moved into the shadows, the audience's view on his band. The deep bass took away from the singing and music. Around 45 minutes of actual performance by the man we came to see transpired between the late start and the extended instrumentals. The concert ended abruptly, lacking an encore or extended main set, with no crowd interaction, making it a terrible experience. I have seen him twice before, but never again. Mid-show, many people walked out.
